Revelation

Revelations and orders were given to the Prophet (saw) through Jibra'eel (as). But Salah is such an important and weighty aspect of this deen, that Allah (swt) Himself gave it directly to Prophet Muhammad (saw) during the Night Journey. 

He (swt), gave Salah as a gift to the Prophet (saw). It was during the Year of Sorrow that the beloved last Messenger was taken upto the Heavens, and Allah (swt) rewarded him and blessed this Ummah with the greatest gift imaginable; being able to talk to our Rabb. Do not let Salah become a chore, allow it to be a means of purification and find comfort and peace in speaking to He who is As- Sami (the All- Hearing).

(Ibrahim (as) said:) "My Lord! Make me and my descendants people who establish Salat. My Lord! Accept my prayer." [Surah Ibrahim 14:40]
